Finding hope and following it closely is a constant work in progress.

I've learnt to not get hung up on hindsight. 
When I first created these studies it was autumn and I was in one of my creative highs and that always makes me feel invincible. 'Everything is great, nothing can go wrong. I never want these high vibe feelings to end. Life is so wonderful. Why would anything ever change!'

Know the feeling?

Little did I know that art sales would slow to an unbelievable all time low and that I wouldn't have the energy or creative drive to paint the larger works for many months.

Back then I didn't know that I would pull myself out of multiple spirals. ( I think of it like throwing myself a rope and imagine pulling myself up out of some fairytale like well). Seriously, try it next time you feel yourself slipping. It works and you'll feel like you don't need to ask anyone for help and it'll also build trust in yourself to keep on going (but I'm also ALL for asking for support).

Attached to the bottom of my computer screen is a handwritten note
'In spite of the fear keep moving forward.'
 
I read this every day and it reminds me to anchor myself in the good, the bad, the anguish and the joy. It's all going to happen, over and over and never in the same order.
 
So now I've reframed hindsight as the power of foresight.  I know that things aren't always going to work out, sometimes they go infinitely better than expected and sometimes they don't adhere to the plan in the slightest.
 
What ever happens, I just have to keep hoping and know that there will always be peace in the end.
