‘Where the gold lies' was inspired by a beautiful early morning autumn walk where instead of finding joy in the sky and landscape I found it at my feet.
It felt as if the leaves on the path in front of me were golden.
As this painting was in creation the concept of our weaknesses being our strengths and began to be formed. This poem will take you on a journey to understand.
There is strength in your weakness.
Your weaknesses are your strengths.
That's where the gold is.
It's in your failure.
It's in your unravelling.
It's in your anguish.
It's waiting in those places that you really don't want to go.
It's hiding in the darkness.
It's watching you through the process.
It's holding space for you.
The gold lies within you.
It always has.
You just need to open yourself to see it.
You need to feel into the uncomfortableness.
You need to believe.
Let the gold guide you even when you feel like it's not possible.
Let the gold show you the way.
Let the gold rise up and become your strength.
The gold lies within you.
