'Life flows when I flow'
I am especially excited to release the 'Joy' collection, my first artworks on canvas for some years. The paintings in this small release are called 'Allow the flow' and are all acrylic and ink on raw (unprimed) canvas.
I've found tremendous joy in the challenge of the process of experimenting and learning a new method of painting but while still retaining my unique style. It was no easy challenge to master but through the nerves and apprehension I've discovered abundant vitality and creativity with this new medium. I've since breathed a sigh of relief that my experimenting (and the anguish of the unknown) has proved successful. But in hindsight, if it had been an easy process would I have received such wonderful results or thrill? I most definitely think not.
I keep finding the more I surrender and deeply trust my path in life the more it works out, not always to plan but often infinitely better than I imagined. Finding flow for me comes relatively easily in my creative practice but sometimes I come up against blocks in my personal life that seem unbearably hard and non-recoverable. It takes a lot of gentle internal chat to persuade myself to simply allow that block to be, to visualise how it would feel on the other side and then to trust that it will work out.
The secret I've found is in the letting go, the trust process is a difficult door to open but with practise it becomes easier. Letting that flow occur even when my mind is screaming 'This will never happen' is something I have to tell it otherwise. So I have found that it's with my mindset I must take inspired action towards my desires, not just with physical doing. I am a human being after all, not a human doing. So when I flow, life flows.
