Cardrona
Trail Map, Wayfinding Signage, Business Cards, Kids Festival Poster and Season Pass Design
Cardrona are always challenging me with different jobs, often with design work I have never done before so I have to put my thinking cap on to come up with a solution. Who doesn't like a challenge?
Trail Map
The Trail Map was an existing artist's impression that had been used with great success for many years. As Cardrona were expanding their skiable terrain for 2010 they needed to have the trail map extended to illustrate the new chair lift. Using Google Earth and several aerial images they supplied I was able to create the extension area based on the current map. It involved lots of hours in Photoshop retouching the mountain image then overlaying the actual trails in Illustrator once the mountain was complete.

Extension area is from about a 1/3 down
Wayfinding Signage for the Base Building Area
This job was another great challenge as I needed to create a layout of the base buildings in 3D but also from an angle that all of the buildings could be seen and labelled. It was essential that customers that had never been to Cardrona before would be able to understand the map easily and therefore know how to get around. A few liberties were taken with the scale of some main areas but only to accentuate them as important land marks to the new customer. A colour coded key was also devised so that it tied in with the buildings colours for ease of recognition. Google Earth was once again a great friend as there were no aerial photos available from this angle.

Business Cards
A special design was created for the Sales and Marketing Manager's cards so that they were unique and different to other mountain staffs' somewhat more 'corporate' cards.

Kids Festival Poster
Ok, this one wasn't a huge challenge to my design knowledge but it was a fun one and I got to do a bit of illustrating with the kid on skis.
